Lodge Cast-Iron Cookware Why cast-iron? Do you want the nostalgic appeal, the idea that the very same item was used 400 years ago? Cast Iron has been used for cookware since the 1600s. It was replaced in popularity in the 1940's when shinier, lighter aluminum was introduced. 
Do you want something conducive to healthy eating? Although often equated
with down-home, feel-good southern cooking, cast iron can be used with any
cooking method to cook anything.
Do you want pots and pans that are versatile, that are easy to use and care for, that can withstand the use and abuse that occurs in a busy kitchen? Cast Iron delivers, and there's very little that can harm it. You can even cook outside, over the campfire, with it. Do want something that is so durable and of such longevity that you can pass it to your grandchildren for their continued use? Cast Iron last forever (well, pretty close.) Do you want cookware that's economical? Cast Iron costs a bit more than some others to start out with, but given its longevity and durability, it's a steal. Also, well-seasoned cast-iron is virtually stick-free, requiring little or no lard, oil, and/or butter. All of the Lodge Cast Iron offered on this web-site is pre-seasoned and ready to use! No more oiling and baking before you can even use it. Please be aware that all Dutch Ovens and Camp Ovens come with a lid, but skillets do not! Please order the set of skillet and lid, if you want a lid for your skillet.
